How to grill hake

  • ½ lemon

  • 2 tsp salt

  • 3 tsp garlic powder

  • 3 tsp sweet basil

  • 2 tsp paprika

  • ¼ cup melted salted butter

  Pat the hake dry

Once you have everything ready, it is time to focus on the hake fillet itself. Make sure to pat it dry with some kitchen towel paper before seasoning it. This will ensure that your hake does not ooze out with water when you cook it and will help you get that perfectly grilled hake that everyone loves.

 Prepare your hakes seasoning

Add the rest of your wet ingredients to your the mashed bananas, namely: vanilla essence, vinegar,  butter, plain yoghurt and eggs. Mix well.

how to cook hake fish

Place your hake onto foil

To prepare the hake fillet for baking, first lay it on a piece of foil that is large enough to wrap around it completely. Create four small cuts in the hake, and then spread the butter mixture on both sides of the fish. Let the hake marinate in the mixture. Finally, position the hake on the foil with the cut side facing upwards.

Place lemon slices on top of the seasoned hake

Prepare your lemon by slicing it into semi thick slices that will then be placed on top of the seasoned hake fillet.

Grill the hake on a grill

To cook the fish, it is essential to cover it completely with aluminium foil and put it on the grill at a high to medium-high temperature. The fish should be cooked for approximately 12 minutes on each side. It is important not to leave out any of these steps to ensure proper cooking.

Grill the hake in the oven

if you are making this in your oven, be then preheat your oven to two hundred degrees Celsius on the grill. Once your oven has preheated, place your hake into the oven for 15 minutes.
