  • Unroll the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface (25cm x 22cm)

  • Spoon a portion of the cooled apple filling onto one side of each pastry square, leaving a border around the edges. Be careful not to overfill, as it may cause the turnovers to burst open during baking.

  • Fold one corner of the pastry over the filling to meet the opposite corner, creating a triangle shape. Press the edges together firmly to seal the turnover. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the turnover, creating a decorative border. This will also help to ensure a tight seal.
  • Egg wash your turnovers
  • Sprinkle a small amount of brown sugar over the tops of the turnovers to add a touch of sweetness and create a beautiful, caramelized crust.
  • Bake the turnovers in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
  • Allow the turnovers to cool slightly before serving. They can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature, and they are delicious on their own or served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
