this is an easy step-by-step guide to making the best soft and no lump pap that will perfectly pair well with chakalaka and braaied meat.

Equipment

  • 1 strong wooden spoon
  • 1 medium-large pot

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups maize meal
  • 2 cup cold water
  • 1.2 liters boiling water
  • maize meal meal for mixing.

Instructions
 

step one:

  • Place the 2 cups of maize meal and cold water into the medium-sized pot and stir well.
  • Once stirred well, place your pot on high heat, and add boiling water to the pot and continue to stir until it starts to boil.
  • Once your maize starts to boil, cover your pot and allow the pap to boil for 10 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes of boiling the maize, add small portions of maize to your pot whilst simultaneously mixing. Look at the video for assistance.
  • Once your pap has reached your desired consistency, mix it well with a wooden spoon until all lumps have disappeared.
  • close your pot and allow your pap to simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Serve your pap with your favourite side and enjoy.
