sweet plantain chips recipe
These sweet plantain chips are a gift to humanity, it is an amazing and healthy treat that is so versatile to enjoy, making them a flexible treat that can be enjoyed as a snack or a side dish for jollof rice.
My first impressions:
Crispy, sweet and delicious were the first three words that came to mind when I bit into my first-ever fried sweet plantain chip. I was a bit sceptical about having banana chips as it was something that I associated with dessert. Still, my curiosity was far too significant to dismiss trying out fried plantain. It was a very different and distinct taste that I absolutely enjoyed. Since then, I have had sweet fried plantain chips at least once a month! This West African delicacy is something everyone should try out, it is so addicting!
A West African favourite
what do plantain chips taste like
As someone who did not grow up having plantains as a staple, I would compare it to the taste of a crispy fried sweet potato. Plantains have a delicious, starchy and sweet taste on the inside with the texture of a banana and potato combined.

No, plantain chips do not need to be soaked before frying. They perfectly cook to crispiness without soaking.
